SvN approached Frontier in need of a new website. Inspired by Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig, we developed a conceptual framework based on the architectural notion of quality; as a romantic idea which values intuition and emotion, and a classical idea which values rationality and analysis. It became clear that this duality was central to SvN’s practice and an exciting basis for a new website strategy.

Web Design, Messaging
The website’s content is organized using two opposing structures. A comprehensive index displays the entirety of the site’s content side-by-side. In doing so, the firm’s output is shown unfiltered, creating unexpected connections and emphasizing breadth. Individual pages are organized as clusters, as if picking up an individual card pulls on invisible threads that connect related ideas.

The emotional-rational tension is felt throughout the site, as layers of experiential videos, detailed site plans, and beautiful renders co-exist without a defined hiearchy. Information can be navigated via ordered chronology or based on conceptual ties.
