Under Gardiner Public Realm Plan

The Bentway is an initiative that has transformed more than ten acres of land beneath Toronto’s Gardiner Expressway into a series of public spaces. In partnership with the City of Toronto, The Bentway Conservancy developed the Under Gardiner Public Realm Plan to outline how the spaces under the expressway can better serve our city. The Conservancy asked Frontier to help develop the public-engagement plan, through video and exhibition design, to facilitate its community-outreach process leading up to the launch of its vision.

Under Gardiner PRP Public Launch Video

Following the development of a launch video, we designed an exhibition in collaboration with The Bentway Conservancy that highlights the extent of the new plan, its priorities, and how public feedback has informed its design approach. We designed it based on The Gardiner’s unique architectural forms. To keep material costs low and production sustainable, the entire installation was produced out of cardboard.
